Hackerstellë

„As part of the Baushtellë Project we renovated an abandond building and transormed it into an Arthouse. We wanted to have a longlasting impact for the local scene, not just oneSummer of energy and then nothing stays. Before Hackershtellë, simply there was no open art house for young people in pristina, so instead of renting a random place we just created a new one.“
Th e Hackershtellë house was renovated and given over to the scene in 2015 as part of the Baushtellë: Balkan project. It is a 3 Floor building with garden and diff erent rooms for shared working spaces, workshops and festivals. Since 2015 the house is succesfully run by the NGO Hackerspace Prishtina and is free working space for creative young people ever since.

The House is a privat property, because during the process of fi nding a suitable house, it turned out, the neoliberal law forbid the state of kosovo and the city of pristina to give spaces or buildings for such purposes. In the aft ermath of the creation of Hackershtellë the local comunity fought succesfully for a change in this law (2017) and opend the door for various succesfull comunity based house projects.
