tobibienz (tobibi)
tobibienz works on the edges - in general and in particular - of sections and genres, of art and politics, of plates and riverbank superstructures. When it tastes too much like revenue - tobibi is BLUBB.
tobibienz (born 31.12.1987) grew up in his parents' puppet theater in Winterthur. tobibi has studied all kinds of things: classical guitar, acting and transdisciplinarity - and so far he canceled all courses sooner or later. blubb. Since 2012 tobibienz works as an artist - performance art, conceptual art, theater and music. tobibi works in different collectives (#BigDreams, BlauBlau, the Nozez collective).
Important works were the Balkan projects, which focused on the development and the strengthening of social structures and grassroot movements. These projects were built up from scratch with friends from Pristina and Belgrade: PRISHTINË - mon amour (2012) and BAUSHTELLË BALKAN TEMPLE (2015).
“that day we fell in love with vermins”
In the fall of 2019, in the midst of the Hong Kong protests, tobibienz fell in love with a cockroach on the rooftop of a skyscraper. tobibi smuggled them on the plane home and lives and works with them ever since. In January 2021 startet the colaboration with Buenos Aires based artist Victoria Papagni. The co-creation with different critters perceived as vermins cumulates in the universe of “that day we fell in love with vermins” - a worksincle with different artists, critters and experts from China, Hongkong, Switzerland and Argentina.
